The Energy That Holds Up Mountains
Steve Miller's Letterpress Printing Class
@ The Penland School, Penland NC
July 21 - August 6, 2002This is a record of some moments we had during our class. The days were hot, the nights cool. People were unfailingly generous toward each other. Good thinking and work in substantial quantites and of high quality was done. John Smith, studio assistant, did much to knit the experience together. Guests Paulus Berensohn (deep ecologist and renaissance person), Eileen Myles (poet in motion), Keiji Shiohara (woodcut master), and Mick Letourneaux (bookbinder/conservator), all added a great deal to the mix. But it was everyone together that made the class a truly wonderful experience. Many thanks, Steve
